Rich met the founding partners of Argus in 1982. In 1987, Argus needed to move their offices from Texas Commerce Tower (Currently Chase Tower) in Downtown Houston, to Williams Tower in Suburban Houston. The partners called Rich and asked him to represent them. What made their request a challenge was that they not only wanted the normal concessions in a first class office transaction, they also wanted an annual termination provision so that they could “sleep at night.” This is not an easy provision to get from any landlord, but ultimately Rich negotiated the concession, and a 25-year relationship with Argus began. Over the years, Argus never wavered from this request. And, every time Rich has represented them, all the way up to 40,000 square feet, he was able to get this concession, allowing Argus the flexibility they needed to expand and grow their business, and of course, sleep at night.
